Mapping Social Isolation in Metro Vancouver II: A 3SFCA Analysis

By

This research aims to analyze the geographical distribution of settlement services in Metro Vancouver and evaluate how these align with the settlement patterns of East Asian immigrants. Specifically, we will focus on provincially sponsored settlement service providers under the  WelcomeBC  program, which is designed to assist newcomers in adapting to their new life in British Columbia. In this project, we will be focusing only on the geographical locations of  WelcomeBC  settlement service providers within the  Metro Vancouver  Area to determine whether social isolation exists. This study utilizes Service Area analysis and the Three-Steps Floating Catchment Area Analysis (3SFCA) used in  Everhart et al. (2023)  to examine access to settlement service providers (SSP) for East Asian population in Metro Vancouver.
