This manifesto is a feminist, anti-capitalist, and anti-colonial manifesto advocating for global menstrual justice by challenging structural inequalities harming females and non-binary menstruators’ reproductive health. In the first section of the manifesto, we discuss the status quo of menstrual injustice by approaching it from different perspectives: the stigma perpetuated by culture, religions, and media, the commodification of menstrual products, and current education and advocacy efforts. The end goal of this manifesto is to deconstruct menstrual stigma and commodification, form transformative menstrual justice movement and policymaking, and achieve global menstruation justice. Here is how we define global menstrual justice: all individual menstruators across the world, regardless of race, class, culture, religion, etc, have access to free, safe, and hygienic menstrual products without period stigmas and whenever they need to. In other words, this manifesto aims to dismantle the structural barriers that prevent access, deconstruct gendered societal stigmas around menstruation, and advocate that menstrual products meet health standards for all menstruators’ bodies.
Keywords: global menstrual justice, menstrual stigma, menstrual commodification
