Our team reimagined University Boulevard as a resilient, connected, and inclusive campus gateway by integrating:

  • Shared Street Design: A one-elevation, curbless road with permeable pavers, modal filters (planters, material shifts), and reduced vehicle access to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety.
  • Rain Garden Corridor: A natural stormwater catchment system with Indigenous plantings to improve flood resilience, increase biodiversity, and connect green spaces, including the Musqueam Welcome Post.
  • Active Transit Hub: A restructured boulevard prioritizing public transit, walking, and cycling by integrating SkyTrain and trolleybus hubs, removing curbside parking, and redirecting vehicles to underground lots.
